A taskbar in Windows is a black strip on a desktop commonly located at the bottom of the screen.
Its basic task is to host the start button, active programs running in the background and also other pinned programs.
Other than these functions, the taskbar could also help you access some programs faster if a key is pressed in combination with a mouse click on the task bar.
